Frequently Asked Questions
Answers regarding selection and ordering
Which telescopic slide is right for my application?
First, check the installation space, required load capacity, and extension length. Also consider the installation position, environmental conditions, and desired functions. Use the product finder to narrow down the range; the technical specifications of the selected variant will assist in the final selection.
What is the difference between partial, full, and over-extension?
The difference lies in the extension length relative to the closed slide length: with partial extension, it is shorter; with full extension, it corresponds approximately to the slide length. With over-extension, it is longer. You can find the exact extension length for each respective variant.
What does the load capacity specification in kg/pair mean?
The kg/pair specification applies to two slides used together under the specified installation conditions. This should be distinguished from the sales unit: check the product page for “Sold per piece” or “Sold per pair.” The load capacity and assembly instructions of the selected variant are authoritative.
What characterizes telescopic slides made of ZM100 sheet steel?
In SCHOCK® ZM100 telescopic slides, a zinc-magnesium coating protects the sheet steel from corrosion. Whether the version is suitable for your operating environment depends, among other things, on humidity and other environmental conditions. Please refer to the specifications for the respective series.
What additional functions are available?
Depending on the series, options such as locks, hold-out detents, quick release, push-to-open, soft-close self-retraction, soft end stops, hold-in detents, or bi-directional extension are available. The respective product variant shows which functions are available in combination.
Are there SCHOCK® telescopic slides for very high loads?
Yes. Our range includes CNC-milled heavy-duty telescopic slides with load capacities up to 2,410 kg/pair. The specific value depends on the series, slide length, and installation conditions. Compare the technical data of the desired variant.
